COLUMBIA (WACH)- It was a day to relive the glory days of Gamecock baseball. Former SC players returning to Columbia for a luncheon and to catch up with teammates and coaches Friday afternoon at Carolina Stadium.
"It's still kind of weird coming back and barely seeing any of the guys I used to play with," two-time national champion pitcher Michael Roth said. "The ones that are here today make it worth while and it's fun."
The South Carolina baseball staff wanted to put together an event that could bring players back "home" and to reassure them that they are welcomed back to the Capital City for the rest of their lives.
"This is where it all started for me," former Gamecock outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. said. "Coming to college here at South Carolina is what helped make me the person I am today."
Players in attendance ranged from the early 2000's to the most recent national championship team in 2011.
