WACH: Alshon Jeffery welcomes over 600 campers at inaugural football camp
CALHOUN COUNTY (WACH) -- Former University of South Carolina All-American and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery hosted his inaugural free youth football camp and community day at Calhoun County High School on Saturday.
Over 600 campers took part in the morning camp with each receiving a free t-shirt and autograph from the star receiver. While today's camp covered the fundamentals of the game, Jefferey says that his message to the youth goes much farther than the grid iron.
"The kids are the future," said Jeffery, who's entering his first-season with the Eagles. "So they need to know there's more stuff than sports. They need to know about schoolwork and respect."
