WACH: Pough proud of commitment by SC State seniors heading into final game
ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) -- The South Carolina State Bulldogs will play their final game of the season on Saturday when they travel to Savannah State. The game will not only be the Bulldogs season finale but it will also be the the final football game for many Bulldogs ever.
Coming off a homecoming win this past weekend against Howard, SC State is (3-6) on the season and will look to send their seniors off on a high note.
"This group, I can easily say that regardless of all the hard times we had, they never gave in," said head coach Buddy Pough, "They (continued) to work hard and came to work everyday."
Pough recalled a moment during the year when it was, as he put it, "raining cats and dogs." He was worried about his team's focus going out to practice but said not once did he hear anyone complain or feel sorry for themselves while they were out there.
"That's when I knew we had a group of guys that I could always depend on. And I think that is the main memory I'll have with this team."
