Life-long Midlands Cubs fan calls win "one of the greatest moments of my life"

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - One Midlands Cubs fan waited a lifetime to see his beloved team become world champions.

Paul Kimball grew up a few blocks from Wrigley Field and was able to return to the friendly confines for Game 3.

Wednesday night, Kimball finally got to see the Cubs win a World Series as they defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in extra innings.

"This is one the highlights of my life," said the 81-year-old. "One of my goals tonight was to get through the evening without having a heart attack, there were a lot of moment where I could have, but in the end the Cubbies came through for me."

Kimball said that he will be waiting for the next Cubs' title and has high hopes as they have a young team.
