James and Woody take home Scholar Athlete honors
Throughout this Friday Night Rivals season, George Sink will recognize an exceptional student athlete from each participating school with a plaque presentation prior to each game.
This week’s Friday Night Rivals George Sink Injury Lawyers Scholar Athlete of the Week from Fairfield Central High School is MaKayla James.
James is a three-time Student Athlete Achievement Excellence award winner. She has also twice been named the offensive player of the year on the Soccer team, as well as twice named the best jumper on the JV Cheerleading team.
At school James is the student body president and active in National Beta Club and the National Honor Society all while being ranked in the top 10 in her class with a 4.294 GPA.
Outside of school James is also active with many volunteer organizations including Adopt-A-Highway, Pennies for Patients, and Fairfield County’s Youth Council.
This week’s Friday Night Rivals George Sink Injury Lawyers Scholar Athlete of the Week from Camden High School is Shan Woody.
Woody is an All-Region soccer player and was named Outstanding Player of the Year last season.
This past spring she also took second in a power cleaning weight lifting competition.
At school Woody has a 4.442 GPA and plans to attend USC next year.
Outside of school Woody is involved volunteering at the Walter M. Crowe humane society and Food for the Soul.
These students are also eligible to win a $5,000 scholarship to be presented at the end of the season courtesy of George Sink.
