Kelley and McDonald earn Scholar Athlete nominations
LUGOFF, SC (WACH) --This week's Grow Financial Federal Credit Union Scholar Athlete awards went to Reddeck Kelley of Lugoff-Elgin and Emily McDonald or Lakewood.
Reddek is a 3 year football and track athlete & has been named the Demon Dog – the pound for pound strongest player.
He has a 3.735 GPA and works as a teacher assistant at Bethune Elementary He is part of LEAPS – Lugoff-Elgin Athletes Providing Services and a member of his church’s youth group.
Reddek is not yet sure about his college plans, but we wish him the best wherever his future takes him!
Emily was voted Most Improved volleyball player and awarded the Softball Poise and Grace award and has had the highest GPA on the softball team for 2 years running.
At school Emily has a 4.672 GPA and is a member of both the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society as well as a teacher cadet.
Emily is very active at her church and a member of the church’s youth group.
She wants to major in nursing to become a nurse anesthetist.
At the end of the season, Reddek and Emily will compete against the rest of this season's scholar athletes for a $5,000 scholarship from Grow Financial Federal Credit Union.
