2016 season T.V. schedule for Sonic Friday Night Rivals on the American Sports Network
COLUMBIA, SC - WACH FOX and the American Sports Network are bringing live high school football to the Midlands again this fall.
Sonic Friday Night Rivals is returning for its second season of action packed football. Sonic FNR is a locally produced high school football game of the week that will air in prime time – turning a regular season high school football game into a community-wide event!
“We are thrilled to bring LIVE, weekly high school football back to the Midlands again this year on our sister stations, ASN 57.2,” said WACH FOX General Manager Greg Conner. “We are especially proud that we will be bringing you the full High School Athletic experience, from the cheerleaders to the band. Sonic’s Friday Night Rivals is a fun exciting event and we are very fortunate we have such great partners to help make happen.”
This season WACH FOX and ASN are expanding our coverage to include 12 new schools from last season. All told, this season Sonic Friday Night Rivals will represent 11 Counties, 16 School Districts, and 5 School Classifications from around the Midlands. WACH FOX’s own NFL Veteran Corey Miller, will once again handle the play-by-play duties in the booth. Former Gamecock Syvelle Newton will be back in the booth alongside him adding his game analysis. This season Corey and Syvelle will be joined by Courtney King reporting on the sideline.
Sonic Drive-In is once again sponsoring Friday Night rivals: “We at Sonic Drive-In are excited to be a part of Sonic Drive-In Friday Night Rivals in the Midlands again. We were so pleased with the enthusiasm and support we experienced last year from the participating school’s coaches, parents and students that we were first in line to sign up again.”
Coverage for the games will start at 7:30pm on ASN. The American Sports Network can be seen over the air on channel 57.2, as well as on Time Warner Cable channel 1250. *Due to severe weather the Gray Collegiate vs Gilbert game was postponed and unable to be televised.
**Due to Hurricane Matthew the Fairfield Central vs Camden game has been rescheduled for Friday, November 4th.
