Game to WACH preview: Dutch Fork vs. Dorman

In Dutch Fork's 3-0 start, the Silver Foxes are outscoring opponents by 35 points per game.

IRMO (WACH)- Dutch Fork came up short for a state title last season. So far in 2013, the Silver Foxes are making opponents pay for that bad taste in their mouths.

Through three games, Dutch Fork have scored 22 touchdowns and are beating their foes by an average of 35 points per game.

Head coach Tom Knotts says his team has one mentality.

"We're going to play one game at a time," Knotts said. " Our goal like everyone else is to win a state championship. We got a taste of it last year."

The Silver Foxes are led on offense by four-year starting quarterback Derek Olenchuk. He has thrown 12 touchdowns this season.

"We have a statement to prove," Olenchuk said. "Our ultimate goal is to go undefeated and make it to Clemson."

Clemson is the site of the 4A State Championship this year, and if running back Matt Colburn continues to produce the way he has early on, the Silver Foxes may end up there.

"The way Coach Knotts and Olenchuk are in control of the offense gives me extra confidence to play as freely as I know how to play," Colburn said.

The junior running back has 10 touchdowns on the season.

Dutch Fork will host Dorman on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
