NEWBERRY, S.C. (WACH) - The Newberry boys basketball team is hoping the third time's the charm when they play for the 2A state championship on Saturday.
Coach Chad Cary's Bulldogs are making their third straight trip to the Colonial Life Arena, but still haven't left with the championship hardware.
They get a rematch with Lake Marion, the team that denied them a championship in 2013.
Newberry employs an aggressive, up-tempo attack reminiscent of Arkansas' old "40 minutes of hell" style of play. If you are on the roster, you are bound to get on the court for the Bulldogs as they try to keep as many fresh bodies as they can on the court.
Newberry tips off against Lake Marion at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial Life Arena.
