Irmo celebrates after winning 4A State Championship over Lexington on Saturday.

Gilbert, S.C. (WACH)- Mattison Gossett's goal in penalty kicks lifted Irmo over Lexington in the AAAA State Championship on Saturday night at Gilbert High School. It's the 16th state title in Yellow Jackets school history, and the 14th and final championship for head coach Phil Savitz.

The Yellow Jackets and Wildcats battled all night long remaining scoreless until penalty kicks. It was knotted at 3-3 when Gossett's shot hit off the Lexington keeper and rolled into the net.

Savitz finished with one last championship before heading to the new River Bluff High School to become the new head coach there.
