Spring Valley coach Aldridge stepping down

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) - After four seasons at Spring Valley High School, head football coach Miles Aldridge is leaving the Vikings program for a coaching job in North Carolina.

Aldridge led Spring Valley to a 12-0 regular season record before an overtime loss to eventual state champion Dutch Fork in the Class 4A, Division I playoffs last fall.

The Vikings were just 2-9 the season before Aldridge arrived at Spring Valley.

The long-time coach who has made stops at South Carolina, Clemson and the Buffalo Bills, among others, during his five-decade career has accepted the head coaching job at William A. Hough High School in Cornelius, NC, just north of Charlotte.

Aldridge is set to leave Spring Valley at the end of the school year to fulfill his contractual obligation.
