Columbia, S.C. (WACH)-- The announcement of Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s retirement drew reaction from various members of the racing community.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver's retirement was announced Tuesday morning and was followed by an afternoon news conference.
Responses spanned across different racing series and included retired drivers, Earnhardt's current teammates, and other racing peers.
Earnhardt joined Twitter after winning the 2014 Daytona 500 and has used social media to document the behind-the-scenes occurrences of his career, which is now coming to a close. His final race will be the November 19 event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
