Nine midyear enrollees start classes at Clemson
CLEMSON, S.C. (WACH) —
The Clemson University football program and Head Coach Dabo Swinney announced they welcomed nine freshman midyear enrollees to campus on Wednesday.
The nine come from five different states as the group and will also begin classes on Wednesday. They are tied for the biggest class of midyears for the Clemson program; the Tigers last had nine midyear enrolles in 2015.
According to ESPN.com and 247 sports this year's midyear class has four of the top 12 players in the nation and they are each ranked as the top player in their home states.
Two of the group's biggest names are quarterback Trevor Lawrence of Cartersville, Ga. and Defensive lineman Xavier Thomas of Florence, S.C. Lawrence is the number-one player in the nation according to Rivals and 247 sports and the No. 2 by ESPN. Two of those same publications rank Thomas as the No. 3 player in the nation, the other lists him as No. 4.
