Solid Orange: In defense of Kelly Bryant...
COLUMBIA, S.C. —
The No. 1 Clemson Tigers are in the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive season so we needed to ask Clemson fans a very important question, WHY ARE SOME OF Y'ALL STILL HATING ON KELLY BRYANT?
This week our panel breaks down why Tiger fans should be backing Clemson's quarterback and how the ghost of DeShaun Watson might be looming over KB2.
Zach Lentz, Clemson beat writer for the Times and Democrat, brought the numbers to prove his point. Lentz argued that Bryant outdoes Watson in a few categories. Bryant averages .46 interceptions this season while Watson averaged 1.13 picks in 2016. KB2 also has a higher completion percentage (.674) than DW4 last season (.670). Bryant also out rushed Watson with 46.69 yards per game this year versus the 41.7 yards per game Watson averaged in 2016.
Robert Carswell, a former Tiger Safety, said on Solid Orange, "Clemson fans will back Kelly Bryant if he gets it done and helps the Tigers win the National Championship for the second straight year".
Solid Orange airs Wednesday nights at 11:00 pm on WACH FOX.
