Clemson comes alive late to top Yellow Jackets in game one

CLEMSON (WACH)- Daniel Gossett pitched seven strong innings and Clemson scored five runs in the seventh to take down Georgia Tech 11-3 in game one of their doubleheader on Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers improved to 29-13 overall and 14-8 in the ACC.
Gossett (7-2) allowed just five hits, one run and struck out four.
The Tigers and Yellow Jackets were scoreless through four when Clemson pushed across two in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tigers then pushed across another in the sixth, five in the seventh and three in the eight.
Tyler Krieger went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Jon McGibbon added two hits with three RBI.
Krieger also delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Tigers the win 4-3 in game two of the doubleheader to clinch the series. The series concludes on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
