Clemson jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning behind a Steve Wilkerson two-run single, but the Irish answered with three of their own in the bottom half and the onslaught continued.
Zack Erwin (4-3) picked up the loss giving up four runs on four hits in just 1.2 innings pitched.
