Clemson, S.C. (WACH)- Sophomore Matthew Crownover struck out nine batters over five innings pitched and Clemson recorded 10 hits to bounce back and even the series with Eastern Michigan with a 5-3 win Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The Tigers (1-1) were led offensively by Tyler Krieger and Steven Duggar who each had three hits.
Zack Erwin relieved Crownover and struck out four earning his first save of the season.
Eastern Michigan jumped out to the early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Clemson responded in the bottom of the second and took the lead for good in the third.
Clemson looks to clinch the series Sunday. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
