CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson's 2013 football schedule includes two Thursday night games and three games against teams that finished the 2012 season in the top-10 in the country.
The schedule was released by the office of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday.
Two of the three games against 2012 top-10 teams from 2012 are non-conference contests with Georgia and South Carolina. Clemson and Nevada are the only schools in the nation to play two non-conference games against teams that finished the 2012 season in the top 10.
The Tigers are set to open the season against Georgia at home and finish the regular season at South Carolina. The Tigers also face Florida State at Clemson on October 19.
Clemson's pair of Thursday night games at NC State and a home game against Georgia Tech will be televised nationally by ESPN. It will be Clemsons first home Thursday night game since October 25, 2002 when Clemson played NC State.
Having a Thursday night, nationally televised home football game on ESPN will be a tremendous positive for the university, said athletics director Dan Radakovich. As the only football game on television that night, we will have an opportunity to showcase our football and athletics program as well as our university community."
The 2002 season was the only other year Clemson has had two Thursday night games in one season.
Special game day designations such as Homecoming, Parents Day and Military Appreciation Day will be announced at a later date.
