      Clemson offense struggles in series loss at Virginia

      Charlottesville, VA (WACH)- Sophomore lefty Brandon Waddell threw 6.1 scoreless innings to lift No. 2 Virginia over No. 14 Clemson 1-0 on Sunday to clinch the series over the Tigers. Clemson falls to 21-14 overall and 10-7 in ACC play.


      Jake Long (2-1) was dealt the loss despite giving up just four hits, one run and striking out four in five innings. Virginia scored its lone run on a sacrifice fly in the third inning.


      The Tigers return to Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday when they host Coastal Carolina. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
