CLEMSON, SC (WACH) - Clemson and South Carolina will warm up the ire of each school's fanbases more than a week before they square off on the football field this fall.
The Tigers are set to play the Gamecocks Nov. 17 at Littlejohn Coliseum according to Clemson's 2013-14 basketball schedule released Thursday. The game has taken place after the annual football contest in recent years. Clemson won last year's game at the Colonial Life Arena.
In addition to the rivalry tilt with South Carolina, the Tigers will open a home-and-home series with regional SEC opponents Arkansas and Auburn. The schedule also includes a trip to Charleston for the Charleston Classic in November.
"It's great to have several regional games on the schedule," said coach Brad Brownell. "Obviously, we play South Carolina earlier this year, but with games against Arkansas and Auburn and a chance to play either Davidson or Georgia, that can create a lot of interest for our fans and allow us to play, quality teams from our region."
Clemson also has 18 consecutive ACC games to end the season, including the program's first conference matchups with ACC newcomers Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Notre Dame.
The Tigers open the 2013-14 season Nov. 8 against Stetson at Littlejohn Coliseum.
