CLEMSON, S.C. (WACH) - The Clemson Tigers capped off a doubleheader with a 9-5 victory over the Maryland Terrapins Monday evening at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The No. 19 Tigers also scored a victory in game one of the doubleheader with a 3-2 win. Clemson has now won four of its last five conference series as the team continues to climb in the standings.
Matthew Crownover pitched six scoreless innings and five different Tigers tallied muliple hits in the win. Crownover is now 6-1 on the season.
The Tigers improved to 32-15 overall and 17-10 in the ACC while the Terrapins dropped to 28-23 overall and 9-18 in conference play.
Clemson has just one conference series left against ACC heavyweight Florida State. The Seminoles are currently ranked ninth in the latest Baseball America top-25 poll. The series is set to begin on May 16 in Tallahassee, FL.
Meanwhile, Clemson gets back to non-conference action with a home-and-home midweek series against Furman starting Tuesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:30 pm.
