COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney will play his last home game in what has been a sluggish season for the heralded defensive end.
Clowney was a Heisman Trophy favorite when the year began. But after 11 games, the reigning Southeastern Conference defensive player of the year has just two sacks and few game-changing plays.
He can add to those numbers Saturday when No. 10 South Carolina (9-2) hosts No. 6 Clemson (10-1).
Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier believes the 6-foot-6, 274-pound junior has had a tremendous impact on South Carolina's improving defense.
Defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward says opponents have schemed to limit Clowney's productivity, allowing other Gamecock defenders step up.
Clowney, who has said he'll enter the NFL draft after this season, takes a final college bow on Senior Day.
