Auburn, AL (WACH)- Freshman Gene Cone hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning and No. 11 USC grabbed a crucial series win 4-3 over Auburn on Sunday. The Gamecocks improved to 30-10 overall and 10-8 in SEC play.
USC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed in the game.
Joel Seddon pitched 2.1 scoreless innings and closed out the game to earn his second win of the season.
The Gamecocks return to Carolina Stadium on Tuesday when they host Davidson.
