CHAPEL HIll, NC (WACH / USC / AP) - The Gamecocks and the Tar Heels will have to wait until Tuesday to see who will earn a trip to Omaha.
The deciding game in the Chapel Hill Super Regional is rescheduled for 12 p.m. Tuesday due to bad weather in the area.
This is the second game to be postponed in the battle of the Carolinas. The first game of the series was played Saturday. Freshman Skye Bolt hit a game-winning RBI single through the right side in the ninth inning to lift North Carolina past South Carolina 6-5 Saturday in the opener of the NCAA super regional best-of-3 series.
Sunday, Jordan Montgomery twirled a four-hit shutout and the South Carolina offense parlayed eight hits, nine walks and five stolen bases into eight runs, as the Gamecocks cruised to an 8-0 win over North Carolina in Game 2 of the best-of-3 Super Regional Series at Boshamer Stadium.
