COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) -- Former Gamecock star and current Boston Red Sox center fielder, Jackie Bradley Jr. was placed on the disabled list Monday after being diagnosed Sunday with a sprained ligament in his knee.

The injury occurred Saturday after Bradley sprained his knee after losing his footing while rounding first base. Red Sox manger John Farrell said on Bradley being moved to the DL that "hopefully it's just the 10 days, we'll see."

In four games this season with the Red Sox, Bradley is batting .286.
