Former Gamecock QB Stephen Garcia explains why Jake Bentley is changing his footwork
TAMPA, FL (WACH) -- For weeks, South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley has talked about changing his footwork leading up to the Outback Bowl. Yesterday, former Gamecock quarterback Stephen Garcia explained what Bentley means by that and what to look for come Monday.
Garcia says Bentley’s feet will be staggered when taking snaps opposed to having them even, which is what he says former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper had him do.
"With coach Roper they've been taught to be parallel and even (with their feet)," explained Garcia. "Talking with coach (Bobby) Bentley and Jake yesterday, they prefer the staggered stance."
