Auburn, AL (WACH)- Freshmen Gene Cone and Jordan Gore delivered game-tying and go-ahead RBI's in the top of the ninth inning to rally No. 11 South Carolina over Auburn 3-2 and even the series on Saturday in game two of their doubleheader. The Gamecocks fell 4-2 in game one.
The Gamecocks (29-10, 9-8 SEC) trailed 2-1 heading into the ninth, but a leadoff single by Grayson Greiner and a one-out walk to Elliott Caldwell set the stage for Cone. He ripped an RBI double to right field to score pinch-runner Patrick Harrington. Gore followed with a shot to left to give USC the final lead of the game.
Cody Mincey (3-0) earned the win and Joel Seddon picked up his 10th save of the year.
USC and Auburn meet for the rubber game Sunday at 2 p.m.
