      Gamecocks drop CWS opener

South Carolina lost its first game of the 2010 College World Series 4-3 to Oklahoma Sunday night, in a game that took nine hours to play.

The first pitch wasn't thrown until 6:24 EST, after a 4 1/2 hour rain delay. Play was stopped again in the 6th inning for an hour and a half after more rain moved in.

The Sooners held off a Gamecock rally in the 9th, as the game ended with the bases loaded for South Carolina.

USC will play the loser of the Clemson-Arizona State game Tuesday. That game was moved from Sunday to Monday morning due to inclement weather.
