Gamecocks, Tigers up in baseball polls

USC and Clemson are both up in this week's college baseball polls.

COLUMBIA (WACH)- Impressive weeks by the South Carolina and Clemson baseball programs moves them up in the polls. The Gamecocks took down the No. 2 LSU Tigers over the weekend, winning the series 2-1, while Clemson took two of three from Georgia Tech.

USC stays put at 15th in the Baseball America Top 25 poll, while Clemson jumps seven spots from 25 to 18.

The Gamecocks move one spot in the USA Today Top 25 coaches poll to ninth. The Tigers enter the poll at 22nd after not being ranked last week.

USC and Clemson both have the middle portion of the week off and will resume conference play this weekend. The Gamecocks open a series with No. 2 Vanderbilt starting Friday at Carolina Stadium, and the Tigers will host Maryland in a Saturday-Monday series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
