CLEMSON, S.C. (WACH) - Not only is Clemson playing host to a top-ten matchup to open the season, the school is also getting a visit from ESPN's College Gameday.
It is the first time the network's football pregame show has visited Death Valley since October 21, 2006, and will be just the second visit overall. The show's season opener on August 31 will be a four-hour broadcast , a first for the program, coinciding with No. 8 Clemson's season-opener against fifth-ranked Georgia.
The Tigers kick off the season at 8 pm that night against the Bulldogs, a preseason choice to win the SEC Eastern division.
Clemson is a preseason pick to win the program's second ACC championship in three years. The team's No. 8 ranking in the preseason USA Today Coaches poll is Clemson's highest preseason ranking in 25 years.
