OAKLAND PARK, FL (WACH)- Frank Martin continues his blaze on the recruiting trail as South Carolina landed 6-9 forward Demetrius Henry from Oakland Park Northeast High School. Henry, a Top 100 recruit according to Rivals.com, chose the Gamecocks over the Miami Hurricanes.
Henry graduated from Northeast in 2012 and reclassified to play for Faith Baptist Christian School in Brandon, FL during 2012-13. He averaged 17.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game during his senior year at Northeast.
The signing of Henry puts the Gamecocks in prime position to improve from Martin's first season as head coach. Henry joins top 50 recruit Sindarius Thornwell from Oak Hill and South Carolina's Mr. Basketball Justin McKie from Irmo as the top names Martin has landed during his first full offseason of recruiting as USC head coach.
