TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WACH/AP) -- The showdown between third-ranked Clemson and No. 5 Florida State has become must-see television.
The matchup between the top 5 teams will be one of the most significant games in Atlantic Coast Conference history.
It's only the fourth time ACC teams ranked in the top 5 have played. The ACC has been heavily criticized for its quality of play, but this matchup will draw the kind of national interest the league hasn't enjoyed in quite some time.
"Very excited about the opportunity that we have. This is a great football team we're getting ready to play, possibly the best team in the country," said Clemson coach Dabo Swinney. "At the end of the day, this is what it's all about, two great teams. We've got a pretty good team, too, and you've got two good teams going at it with a lot on the line, and this is why you're in college football."
No matter who wins, the ACC can't lose on Saturday. The winner will stay in the title discussion with top-ranked Alabama of the Southeastern Conference, the Big Ten's Ohio State and Oregon out of the Pac 12.
The ACC will let Heisman Trophy hopeful quarterbacks Tajh Boyd and Jameis Winston showcase its product.
