CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson's athletic booster group has named Davis C. Babb as its first chief executive officer.
The school made the announcement Wednesday. Babb was associate athletic director for development and associate vice chancellor for university advancement at Texas Christian University.
Clemson group is called IPTAY, a group that began in 1934. The acronym stands for "I Pay Ten A Year," which was the amount of dues members paid.
The organization has restructured and it conducted a national search that led to Babb's selection. Babb thanked Clemson's leaders for the appointment and said he looked forward to continuing to help raise money for scholarships, academic services, facility improvements and other athletic department initiatives.
