USC takes doubleheader over Kentucky

Brison Celek hit a walk off RBI single in the 11th inning to give the Gamecocks a 7-6 win over Kentucky on Saturday. USC won game one of their doubleheader 5-2 earlier in the day.

COLUMBIA (WACH)- Brison Celek delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to propel the 18th ranked Gamecocks to a 7-6 win over No. 17 Kentucky on Saturday in game two of their doubleheader at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 30-10 overall and 10-7 in the SEC.

The Gamecocks led 5-1 in the third inning, but Kentucky clawed its way back with two home runs to take a 6-5 lead in the seventh.

USC then tied it at six in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Graham Saiko two-out RBI single.

Tyler Webb pitched in his first game back since hurting his elbow and earned his second win of the season.

USC defeated Kentucky 5-2 in game one of the doubleheader. The Gamecocks will go for the sweep on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
