COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) - South Carolina pitcher Wil Crowe has been named a Freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball.
The right-hander from Tennessee was 8-3 with a 2.75 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched. Crowe allowed just 32 runs, 28 earned, on 76 hits with 19 walks and 59 strikeouts.
The freshman made an immediate impact when he quickly earned a spot in South Carolina's weekend rotation and was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week twice during the course of the season.
Crowe won his first collegiate victory in a 12-0 win over Bucknell in February when he struck out five batters in 6.1 innings of work. He tallied a career-high nine strikeouts in wins over both Vanderbilt and Brown.
Crowe threw a four-hit complete game 9-0 shutout against Campbell in South Carolina's final win of the season during last weekend's NCAA Regional.
