USC's Schrock earns All-America honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) - South Carolina second baseman Max Schrock has earned second-team Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America.

The team was announced on Monday afternoon. Schrock hit .282 for the season with six home runs and 39 RBI. He tied for the team lead with 21 multi-hit games and led the Gamecocks with 14 stolen bases.

Schrock is one of two Gamecock freshmen to pick up Freshman All-America honors. Pitcher Jack was honored by Collegiate Baseball in June. The left-hander compiled a 7-3 record and a 3.09 ERA in his first season with the Gamecocks.
