WACH: Gamecocks' defense not overthinking task at hand with Wofford
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) -- 2015 is season many South Carolina fans try to forget, after the Gamecocks finished (3-9) that year. But no loss was more shocking that season than losing to The Citadel at home in the second to last game of the year.
"We can't look past this week," said Skai Moore, who co-leads the team in tackles with 68. "We all know what game we have next week but we're all locked in and focused on Wofford."
For the first time since that loss to The Citadel, the Gamecocks will play a triple-option team with Wofford coming to town this weekend. With the team being as young as they are, many haven't faced an offense like this at the collegiate level. While some recalled memories of teams running it in high school.
"I haven't seen this type of offense since high school," said defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth. "It's more assignment (when you play against the triple-option); try to force turnovers so we can give our offense back the ball."
