Clemson, SC (WACH)- Trea Turner gave NC State a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning and the Wolfpack added six runs in the ninth to even the series with No. 16 Clemson on Sunday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 in the first, but answered with two in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead. NC State answered in the sixth with an Andrew Knizner homer followed by Turner's two-out RBI single in the seventh to give the Pack a lead they wouldn't look back from.
Starter Zack Erwin (2-2) earned the loss despite striking out seven over 6.2 innings.
The rubber match is set for Monday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The game will serve as Military Appreciation Day.
