COLUMBIA (WACH)- Sophomore lefty Jack Wynkoop pitched 7.1 scoreless innings and struck out a career-high 10 batters, and Grayson Greiner belted a two-run homer to give USC a 2-0 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday at Carolina Stadium.
The Gamecocks (6-0) and Colonels (1-5) were scoreless into the sixth when Greiner blasted the two-run shot to left field.
Wynkoop (2-0) allowed just three hits and yielded one walk. Joel Seddon closed out the ninth to earn his first save of the season.
USC and Eastern Kentucky wrap up their three game series Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
