Candace Murphy co-anchors Good Day Columbia 5-9 a.m. Monday-Friday.
Before moving to Columbia in August of 2017, Candace was a reporter and anchor at WALA FOX10 News in Mobile, AL where she helped launch and solo-anchored the station’s weekend morning newscast.
During her journalism career, Candace has served as an investigate, breaking news, crime, sports, court and lifestyle reporter and anchor.
One of the most memorable moments of her journalism career was covering the 2011 EF-4 tornado in Tuscaloosa, AL.
She also followed the Alabama Crimson Tide to several SEC Championship games and covered the 2013 BCS National Championship Game in Miami, FL.
Candace graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alabama where she interned and worked at WVUA-TV while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
She grew up dancing and loves to stay active by spending time outdoors and exploring the Midlands.
Candace is active in the Catholic Church and hopes to get involved in several organizations in Columbia. She enjoys serving as an emcee, judge, and station representative at community events and public engagements.
