April Jefferson Award winner Kim Snyder
Columbia, S.C. (WACH)-- WACH FOX is dedicated to celebrating people who make our community a better place to live, which is why we have partnered with the Jefferson Awards to highlight those special people who are working to serve the community.
Every month, we spotlight individuals who are making an effort to serve the community. This month we traveled to Dillion to spotlight Kim Snyder for her heartfelt contributions.
Kim Snyder, is a self made entrepreneur who makes bracelets in honor of her father.
Back in 2007, Kim felt an urge to do something special for her father who was a retired U.S. Marine Corps Captain.
Using her own money, time and resources, Kim began making red, white and blue bracelets known as the Flag Bracelet Project.
These colorful and creative bracelets have been sent to thousands of veterans across the United States and four countries as a simple gesture to say thank you.
Snyder feels as though it is important to bring awareness to those who may often be forgotten for their service.
Not only did she think of her father and other veterans, Kim decided to use the bracelets to bring awareness to her own battles.
"I've done some pink and white bracelets for breast cancer here because I am a breast cancer survivor" said Snyder.
Through her father's legacy, Kim continues to put her best foot forward whenever life seems to throw an obstacle her way.
Onc bracelet at a time, Kim continues to honor her father's legacy by touching lives across the word, one bracelet at a time.
