COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- The Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen Pageant may not be until the end of the week, but the contestants are hard at work keeping their eye on the prize.

The ladies have been practicing all week and competing in the preliminary rounds.

Different groups compete in different categories over the course of the three nights of the preliminaries.

After practicing for hours during the day, the Teen Queens took some time out to enjoy lunch with the public..their favorite spot was McDonald's!

All of the contestants donated canned goods for Harvest Hope before they dined-in at the resturant.

In order to stay in shape for Wednesday's fitness category, some girls admit that they do not eat beyond 8 p.m. and definitely commit to a daily workout routine.

All contestants will be bringing in canned donations for Harvest Hope and will be available for photos and interviews during the event.

This is the fifth year local McDonald’s owner/operator Brad Valdes has sponsored the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen Pageants and Scholarship Organization fund.
