Irmo, S.C. (WACH) -- WACH FOX is proud to highlight students excelling in and outside the classroom.
We introduce you to Safe Federal Credit Union teen to WACH - Jessica Goddard.
A junior at Dutch Fork high school, Jessica Goddard believes in having a positive outlook on life.
She dance competitively, is a member of the national honor society, and plays several roles in advocacy for primary immunodeficiency disease.
I have common variable immune deficiency. It is a disease where my body does not produce antibodies which are is what your body uses to fight infections.
Due to having this rare disease, Goddard has to get monthly plasma infusions.
While battling this disease, Goddard has maintained a 4.5 GPA and is in the top 15 percent of her class.
Goddard has these words of advice for students:
Just put on a happy face and if you have a positive attitude and a positive outlook on life, then things end up being a lot happier and you won't stress as much about them.
After graduation, Goddard plans to study health sciences.
