Windley and Cooper take home Teens to WACH honors

Kaylan Cooper SAFE Federal Credit Union Teen to WACH

Throughout this High School Hoops season, SAFE Federal Credit Union will recognize an exceptional Teen to WACH from each participating school with a plaque presentation prior to each game.

This week’s Teens To WACH Presented by SAFE Federal Credit Union are Cortazia Windley from Richland Northeast and Kaylan Cooper from Ridge View.

Windley is the basketball and track captain for the Cavaliers. The Senior averages nearly 9 points and 4 rebounds per game and was named to the Carolina Invitational All-Tournament team.

She is a member of National Honor Society and has taken many honors and AP courses keeping a 3.8 GPA. In the community Windley helps with after school care at a local elementary school. She also spends time volunteering to feed the homeless.

After graduation she plans to attend Claflin University.

Cooper is the Varsity Cheer Captain for the Blazers. She received the Most Dedicated award and was named an All American. She was also selected to perform at the Disney Magic Kingdom Thanksgiving Day Parade.

She is ranked 5th in her class and is the senior class vice president and a Palmetto Fellows recipient. All while holding down a 4.8 GPA. Cooperis a member of the Emeralds of Excellence Debutante Program and has volunteered at Edventure Children’s Museum for 3 years and tutors her peers.

These students are also eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship to be presented at the end of the season courtesy of SAFE Federal Credit Union.
