Airport High School gets a new principal

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- New leadership is coming to Airport High School after controversy at the school.

David Damm is stepping in as the school's new principal taking over from Frank Jovanelly who was brought back on a temporary basis.

Earlier this year, former principal Brad Coleman was placed on paid administrative leave during an investigation into former assistant principal Dawn Diimler. He later resigned.

Diimler was fired and later charged with sexual battery for her relationship involving a student.

According to the Cayce Department of Public Safety, Diimmler engaged in an alleged relationship with a 19-year-old student at Airport High School between March 2017 and June 2017.
