Report: Dean McDermott tells ex-wife he made "terrible mistake" leaving for Tori Spelling
WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Dean McDermott is facing jail time after failing to pay child support for his 19-year-old son and McDermott's ex-wife is humiliated by the situation.
Mary Jo Eustace, 55, tells DailyMailTV that McDermott agreed to pay for their son's rent while he studies in college but that the transaction never happened.
"It jeopardized his roommates and the apartment. One of the other dads had to cover the rent, so that really humiliated my son," said Eustace. "I don't even know if it's paid back yet."
Eustace also says her son has had his bank account cleaned out by debt collectors twice and that McDermott once confessed to regretting their breakup.
"A year and a half ago, Dean confessed to me that he had made a mistake and he wondered what his life would be like if he had he stayed with me. He said, "Do I love Tori? Yeah. But I've thrown my life away," Eustace said. "We were on the street where we used to live. He fell to his knees crying, saying, "I can't believe I gave this up. That is 150 percent true. It was the most bizarre conversation ever."
Eustace recently filed a court order against McDermott after he stopped paying monthly alimony payments of $1,500.
