CAMDEN, SC (WACH) - The mayoral seat in Camden is still up for grabs after an extremely tight race.

After Tuesday night's ballots were cast, Alfred Mae Drakeford had a 23 vote lead over Laurie Parks to become the next mayor of Camden.

Both Drakeford and Parks currently reside on the Camden City Council and one will be replacing Tony Scully as mayor.

John Caughman with Kershaw County Voter Registration and Elections said Thursday they are still adding provisional and emergency ballots to the final vote tally.

Caughman added the board will decide if a recount is necessary after going over the provisional and emergency ballots.
