Several Midlands seats decided in Tuesday night run-off elections

(WACH) - Numerous run-offs took place Tuesday night in the state and in the Midlands.

Several SC House of Representatives seats for Midlands districts were up for grabs.

In the seat previously held by Grady Brown for Lee, Sumter and Kershaw Counties, Will Wheeler defeated Tom Drayton in the Democratic run-off.

Columbia pastor Ivory Thigpen won the Democratic run-off against Monica Elkins, for the District 79 seat previously held by Mia McLeod.

Lexington County Assistant District Solicitor Micah Caskey ousted West Columbia councilman Tem Miles for the SC House of Representatives seat that represents Cayce, Springdale and West Columbia.

In Lexington County, Darrell Hudson won his run-off against Brad Matthews for the District 3 seat, while Erin Bergeson narrowly defeated Dino Teppara for the District 6 county council position.

Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock will not be returning to that position after he was defeated by challenger Robbie Baker by a 52%-48% margin in their democratic runoff.
