One arrested and charged after police chase, crash Tuesday
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) -- The Columbia Police Department has arrested and charged a man after he allegedly led police on a chase in a stolen car Tuesday.
Nicholas Antonio Hayes is now charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
The Columbia Police initiated a traffic stop on Farrow Road after spotting a stolen vehicle from Richland County Tuesday.
The driver did not stop for police and led them on a brief pursuit.
The car ended up crashing into at least three vehicles on North Main and Sunset Drive during the attempted getaway, sending at least one person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
After the collision, deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department spotted the stolen vehicle which later crashed on Clement Road.
