PELION, S.C. (WACH)-- A Lexington County teen has been accused of firing shots at two men and towards a home last week.

According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department a 13-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and shooting into a dwelling.

On Friday deputies responded to a home on Bush Berry Road when witnesses told them a young man fired a rile toward his neighbor before running away.

“Based on the information deputies gathered at the scene Friday, the young man fired a .22 rifle in the direction of his neighbor, who was outside his home on Bush Berry Road in Pelion,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

“Witnesses told deputies a man who pulled into the neighbor’s driveway was also shot at.”

The teen, who will not be identified because he is under the age of 17, reportedly ran away and locked himself in a nearby home when deputies arrived to the scene.

Deputies negotiated for several minutes before the boy came out and talked to them.

“In light of the information the teen shared with us, he was placed under arrest and transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice,” Koon said.

“He will appear in Lexington County Family Court at a later date.”
